Somebody in Britain dies of a smoking-related disease
every 4 minutes. That's about 120,000 people a year.
About
half of all teenagers who keep smoking will eventually
be killed by tobacco. Half of these will die in middle
age (35-69). If they hadn't smoked, they would probably
have lived another 20 to 25 years. The rest will die
later, perhaps having suffered throughout their life
from more diseases and disorders than most non-smokers.
Most
people killed by tobacco started in their teenage years.
