Burning Issues

‘Burning Issues’ is a recently launched pack which aims to present a range of smoking related issues in an interesting and innovative way.

Rather than looking at health risks in any detail, ‘Burning Issues’ encourages pupils to think for themselves about some of the social issues surrounding smoking and tobacco.

The pack consists of a series of booklets and a separate set of ‘discussion starters’. The booklets contain a range of articles, information, worksheets, tasks and other materials.

‘Burning Issues’ is for pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4. The materials are targeted at PSE and English/Welsh. They are also relevant to other subject areas such as RE, History, and GNVQ Health and Social Care.

Three packs have been distributed to every secondary school in Wales. Look out for them in lessons!
