Teachers
Thank you for visiting our web-site.
On these pages you will find resources and information
to help with lesson planning (there’s plenty of printable
worksheets) and some key reports and papers relevant to school based
health promotion.
Topics currently covered are:
The Young People
in Wales: findings from the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children
(HBSC) study 1986-2000 contains many sections that will be of
interest to teachers, including chapters on the school environment,
smoking, alcohol, children’s use of illicit drugs, eating
patterns and physical activity.
The Welsh Assembly Government has published an action
plan in response to this study.

the Chief Medical Officer Wales' website. Go to www.cmo.wales.gov.uk/content/schools/wnhss-e.htm

You can also find an information leaflet for teachers
about young carers by clicking here.
A young carer is someone under 18
whose life is restricted because of the need to take responsibility
for a family member due to sickness, disability, mental health and
alcohol or drug problems.
Further detailed information about all carers can
be found on the Welsh Assembly Government's Carers Online website
at www.wales.gov.uk/subisocialcarers/
